Imagine Cup in NY
Panda papa came back from business trip yesterday (16th).
He was in NY for about a week as a journalist attending Imagine Cup by Microsoft.
It was world wide finals for the world's premier student technology competition.
Two teams of college students participated in this competition as finalists from Japan this time.
About 358,000 students from 183 countries registered in this Cup 2011.
Unfortunately, Japan teams didn't pass the 1st round competition.
Though, meeting all the students from all over the world, and seeing and hearing some executives giving some speech on the stage definately must have been a great encouragement.
Panda papa himself had some opportunities to interview these people, he surely was enlightened by those.
It must have been a profound trip for him!

7月16日、Panda papaがようやく出張から帰ってきました
7/6 -16の10日間の出張。息子のHollyは10日間の間、3回だけど「お父さんに会いたい～」と号泣してました。
じぃじとばぁばが来てくれてたくさん遊んでくれたんですけど。。。
じぃじ、ばぁば、長いことどうもありがとうございました。
で Panda papa はマイクロソフト主催の Imagine Cup 2011 に随行記者としてニューヨークに行ってきました。今回の会場はニューヨークのど真ん中、タイムズ スクエアのマリオット ホテル。
Imagine Cup は全世界の学生を対象とした9部門の分野でのコンペだそうです。ソフトウェアのデザイン、ゲームのデザイン、デジタル メディアなどなどの部門で各国の学生たちがチームを組み、開発したデザインを競う大会とのこと。2011年は183カ国、約358,000人の学生が参加登録したそうです。
日本からは、日本の最終選考を通過した2チームがニューヨークでの決勝大会に参加。その学生さんたちとその他の記者の皆さんなどなどと一緒に Panda papa さんもニューヨークへ行ったのでした。
残念ながら日本チームはどちらも一回戦を通過できず。。。
ですが、早く大会が終わったので取材も早く終わり、空いた時間にその他のたくさんの人たちにインタビューをすることができた Panda papa。たくさんの刺激を受けたニューヨークでの一週間だったようです。
で、生まれて初めて自由の女神を見に行った Panda papa。ちょっとはじけ気味？？
